Since April 2023, there have been violent clashes between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF). Hundreds of people have been killed, thousands injured, and hundreds of thousands displaced by the fighting. Local groups have mobilised in response to the conflict, working at different levels to respond to immediate needs however the humanitarian response in Sudan requires urgent scaling up and sustaining. This brief outlines some practical steps humanitarian actors can take to achieve these goals.
